Comprehensive Guide to Buying a MG MG3 in the UK

MG MG3 (2013-2018)

MG's supermini hatchback was initially launched in 2013 in the UK and enjoyed a stint of popularity. It presented a pro of affordability and a good driving experience.

• Pros: Relatively low cost, good handling, spacious interior
• Cons:Underwhelming power, poor fuel efficiency, lackluster safety features

When buying a used one of this model, you should check for proper maintenance records, paying attention to tire conditions and listen for unusual engine noises.

MG MG3 (2018-present)

The revamped model brought some improvements, including more modern design and additional internal features.

• Pros: Better interior quality, low running cost, 7-year manufacturer's warranty
• Cons: Average fuel economy, average safety rating, engine can feel underpowered

When buying a used MG3 from this era, always check for the remaining duration of the manufacturer's warranty and ask about oil changes and maintenance records. Ensure all electronic features are functional.

Competitors

Key competitors for the MG3 are other affordable superminis, such as the FORD Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa, and Skoda Fabia, which also offer a balance of price and performance.

A free service like Carsnitch can be your friend when buying a used MG3. As a consumer, I always make sure to check the history of any cars, and I would recommend doing the same with Carsnitch which offers this service for free.
